Garden Hills is a popular neighborhood in Atlanta, nestled between Peachtree and Piedmont Roads. Garden Hills traces its beginnings back to 1925, when the neighborhood was developed by an influential attorney, Phillips Campbell McDuffie. McDuffie desired to create a neighborhood with a country club serving as its focal point. Shortly after Garden Hills was created, the community grew beyond the boundaries of McDuffie’s original plan, and today the neighborhood is home to more than 750 single-family homes, as well as apartment complexes. The area was annexed by Atlanta in 1952.

These spaces are an oasis for wildlife in the area, and many residents enjoy watching the animals at play. Frankie Allen Park is another popular park in Garden Hills, and is a more traditional recreational space complete with baseball diamonds, walking trails, and picnic pavilions.
